Hours: 40hrs  

Shift: Day/Evening shift; TBD

Location: Outpatient Pediatric Rehab – New Bedford, MA

Requirements

Under direction of individually assigned Team Leader, Rehabilitation Services or designee, perform diversified patient care and related duties within and in support of the Rehabilitation Services Department, as determined in the sole discretion of Southcoast.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Completed all ASHA Standards I-VI. Member of American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • The Clinical Fellow (CF) experience can be initiated only after completing all graduate credit hours, academic coursework, and clinical experiences required to meet the knowledge and skills delineated in the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Standards IV and V. The CF experience must be initiated within 24 months of the date on which the application for certification is received.
  • Once CF application process has been initiated it must be completed within 48 months of the initiation date.
  •  Per ASHA: Clinical fellows will be assigned an eligible mentor who will provide supervision.
  • A complete CF experience must have: A minimum of 1,260 hours of clinical experience working under the mentorship of a CCC-SLP who meets the mentor requirements as outlined in 2020 Standard VII.
  • A minimum of 36 weeks (or its part-time equivalent) of clinical experience working under the mentorship of a CCC-SLP; A minimum of 6 hours of direct supervision and 6 hours of indirect supervision completed during each segment or partial segment by each mentor.
  • All hours/segments recommended by each CF mentor so that they count toward the CF experience.
  • Proof of eligibility for Massachusetts Speech-Language Pathologist Provisional License.
  • The applicant must meet all of the requirements necessary to obtain and maintain a Provisional License in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and must obtain a Provisional License prior to or promptly following commencement of the CF program, and must maintain such Provisional License during the CF term.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired. 

  • Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
