MTM Staffing, standing for More than medicine, operates like an external traveler agency, except that everything is handled “in-house”, and the workers are Southcoast Physicians Group employees instead of employees of an external agency.

Available Roles

RNs, Surgical Techs, Cath Lab Technologists, CT Technologists, Mammo Technologists, IR Technologists and MRI Technologists will be offered temporary, full-time & part-time, hospital assignments for an 11, 12 or 13-week period that can be renewed for one additional assignment (with Southcoast approval).

Eligibility

To be eligible for positions with MTM Staffing, candidates must either have never been employed by Southcoast Health or must have voluntarily terminated their employment with Southcoast at least nine months prior to application with MTM Staffing.

    • a. Cardiac Cath Lab Technologists who voluntarily terminated their employment with Southcoast at least 9 months prior to applying to MTM Staffing and Cardiac Cath Lab Technologists who have never worked for Southcoast are eligible to apply. Cardiac Cath Lab Technologists must be in good standing and meet the following licensure/certification requirements: For Radiologic Technologist (RT): current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of MA and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required. For non-RTs: current registration with Cardiovascular Credentialing International is required. For both: Basic Life Support certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support is required.
  3. Q. As an internal traveler Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist, what will I be paid?
    • a. $80 per hour. You will also be eligible to earn overtime at time and one-half when working more than 40 hours in one work week. You will also be eligible for an $8/hour unrestricted on-call rate when working “on-call” according to Southcoast Health’s on-call policy.

    • a. An assignment is 11, 12 or 13 weeks.

    • a. At Southcoast’s discretion, you may be offered the option to extend for one additional assignment if there is a staffing need. We are not offering more than two, temporary assignments per internal traveler at this time. If you decide to extend for a second assignment, the maximum number of weeks that you can work as a contracted internal traveler in aggregate is 39 weeks. Once you have completed your first or second assignment, you are encouraged to apply for regular employment, whether part-time or full-time.     • a. Generally, standard workweeks are either 36 or 40 hours. This could change based on staffing needs.

    • a. Yes. You will be offered opportunities to help with coverage by our Staffing Department based on your skills and the skills needed to safely cover available shifts
  8. Q. Where will I work?
    • a. You will have a primary assignment at one of the perioperative Cardiac Cath Lab sites and will float as needed to any of our three hospitals, which are all within a maximum 45-minute drive from each other.

For CT Technologist: Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiation Therapy and attainment of primary certification within one year of eligibility and post-primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography, RT(CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board NMTCB(CT). (Post-primary certification in the advanced practice discipline of CT is required for RT's or CNMT's within one year of eligibility and/or per RT licensure in MA or RI). Current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
      2. For IR Technologists: Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, and attainment of post-primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Interventional Radiology RT(VI)/(CI)/or (CV). Current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required. Post-primary certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography and ACLS is preferred.
      3. For Mammo Technologist: Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, and attainment of primary certification within one year of eligibility and post-primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Mammography RT(M). (Post-primary certification in the advanced practice discipline of Mammography is required for RT's within one year of eligibility and/or per RT licensure in MA or RI).
