Requirements
Under general direction of the Director, Associate Chief Nursing Officer and Site Administrator or designee, provide 24 hours leadership for clinical nursing practice of all ages or individually assigned units. Responsible for supervising assigned patient care staff, allocation of assigned staff and material resources to effect quality patient care outcome.Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required. Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current RN Registration in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
- BLS Certification is required.
- A minimum of five (5) years related work experience and three (3) years supervisory experience is required.
- Knowledge and practice within one or more of the following areas: Operating Room, PACU, Ambulatory Surgical Unit (Preop) and Endoscopy Departments for a minimum of 5 years perioperative staff nurse and 3 years perioperative management experience required.
- Knowledge of Sterile Processing Department
- Experience in a collective bargaining environment
- History of managing a minimum of 20 FTE
- Experience in building staffing patterns and managing staff schedules required
- Ability to promote and atmosphere which facilitates collaboration and empowerment of staff
- Demonstrated process improvement activity
- Demonstrated committee involvement
- Current Certification in perioperative practice area preferred (CNOR, ASPAN, ABCGN) or obtain within 6 months of hire.
